New Technology for Car Keys
Car keys could soon be a thing of the past as technology progresses forward to develop
keyless vehicles using “near-field communication (NFC) protocol” currently used for contactless payments on our smartphones.
Cars could be opened using your fingerprint scanned into your phone whilst holding it near the door.
The wireless keys may also be used by hire and car-sharing industries with a download of the passcode to gain assess.
This new system would also enable any shared digital pass to be revoked when a car is sold eliminating the risk of lost spare keys being used to gain entry.
This technology is already being offered by BMW.
